STAFF INFORMATION
La Escuelita has been in operation for 26 years. Director Carmen Massó
has extensive experience in the field of Bilingual Bicultural Education. Ms.
Massó is an adjunct faculty member at Shoreline Community College. She is
an author and educational consultant in the field of bilingual education.
La Escuelita has a qualified staff and very little staff turnover. The staff
is required to have a Child Development Associate Certificate, and a AA or BA in the
field of Bilingual Bicultural Education depending on their job requirements.
The staff is also required to additionally participate in the following training:
- First Aid CPR Class
- HIV/AIDS Training
- Food Handlers Permit
- Anti-Bias Curriculum Training
- Ten hours of Professional Development
Staff undergoes annual evaluations and on-going observations to assist them in their
professional development.
La Escuelita has additional support services from an Early Childhood Development
Specialist that provides technical assistance on site through Shoreline Community
College. A nutritionist and consulting nurse is also available to provide
technical assistance and training.
